Wow these days are passing so fast, and I have never felt more in my element than on this trip. I’m so thrilled with the things we’ve seen, the people we’ve met, the food that we’ve ate, the decisions we’ve made, the memories we’ve built.
I love this land, and I love my sister and today I love myself.
Thats a good thing to feel. I wish I could share this magic with everyone.
Today Liz and I geared up for a 9 mile hike through the Garnet Trails.
It was lovely and quite the challenge, all around us looked like different scenes from the sound of music, including a nice downhill run portion to escape some very aggressive mosquitos.
We were so lucky to have seen a bear earlier the morning and then at the end of our walk we had the very rare privilege of seeing a wolf just scampering about watching us walk through the middle of his turf. It was terrifying and wondrous.
Remember when Brittany put “have an experience with a wolf” on my 30 before 30 list.. hahah who knew that would be one of the accomplishments I actually got to check off during CoVid..
This was a very special day.
Our first exploring the park, we started at the North Entrance and explored our way through mammoth hot springs. We were lucky enough to see the worlds tallest geyser erupt immediately as we walked past it’s viewing deck.
Then we drove about a good bit, saw some epic field of buffalos, hiked up to the Grand Prismatic overlook and met some beautiful people in beautiful place.
What a wonder this world is!
On the road for two days straight and we finally arrived at our paradise clamping cabin. Looking out over the most paramount-picture-perfect alps and right next to the idyllic local watering hole, we couldn’t be happier.
We found some very fun stops along the journey, like the “enchanted highway” and I turned Elisabeth onto some of my favorite podcasts. Doesn’t she look like she fits right into the scenery. We only considered moving here every time we turned a new corner!
We’re on the road, me and my skateboarding, Beatles-loving, vegetarian little sister.
Guess what she was craving for her first “vacation dinner” KFC and a huge chocolate pie. I think this is going to be a very interesting adventure together.

Today I spent the day packing and planning and releasing expectations for the adventure ahead. One last night in this bed.

I love my room and my home, but this season has definitely reawakened my wanderers heart.
